Madrid
I was invited and grabbed the chance to visit a friend living in Madrid for her studies. I was expecting warm sun but left a springlike Paris for a windy-frozen Madrid. But the city let me have the chance to see blue sky though.
I fell in love with tartas. We almost had a 4 o'clock tea every day. I was looking for authenticity : bright colored buildings, plants and railings on windows, hanging ham, tortillas, spanish way of life, etc. My vision of Spain. I had a food list to taste, but I was short on time. Most of the time I played the tourist. And I quite liked it.
Walking all the day, visiting parks, museums, buying postcards, drinking and dinning with friends, squeezing fresh oranges for breakfast, discovering Wes Anderson's movies and falling in love for 'em. Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia & Palacia de Cristal stole my heart. Frenchies, architect Jean Nouvel and botanist Patrick Blanc aroused my interest through Madrid.
Thanks for inviting, receiving, feeding, leading me, lending me your couch, speaking spanish for me. Thanks for everything.
